Privacy policy

SpinProof has no accounts and asks for no personal details. This page explains the little we do store and why.
What we store
- Wheels you save or spin. When you press Spin or Share, we store the wheel's title, entries and options, so the wheel link and proof pages keep working.
- Spins. For each spin we store the entries as they were locked, the secret, the winners and the times it was locked and revealed. This is what makes a result checkable.
- Edit tokens. Your browser keeps a random token that lets you edit your own wheel. We store only a scrambled form (a hash) of it.
Entries are whatever you type. Please avoid entering more personal information than you need; first names or initials work well. Public proof pages show entries partly hidden, like A•••a, unless the wheel owner chooses to show them, and winners in full.
Technical data
- IP addresses are used to limit how many spins one connection can make, to stop abuse. These counters expire within a day.
- Server logs record requests (IP address, page, time and browser type) for security and fault finding and are deleted after about two weeks.
- Requests pass through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site and processes this technical data on our behalf.
- Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views and load times in aggregate, without cookies and without building a profile of you.
Cookies and local storage
SpinProof itself sets no cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps your latest edits on each wheel page and your edit tokens, so you can return to your wheels. That data stays on your device; clear your browser's site data to remove it.
If we add advertising, our ad partner may use cookies. We will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
How long we keep data
Wheels and spins are kept so their links keep working. You can ask us to delete a wheel or proof at any time through the contact page.
Children
SpinProof is a general tool, not a service directed at children. Teachers using it in class should enter only what they need, such as first names or numbers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Contact us with the link to the wheel or proof concerned.
